Difference between core i3 i5 and i7
Whenever we are going
to purchase desktop or a laptop or we are going to assemble a PC a question is
arise in our mind core i3, core i5, or core i7. Keep reading this post probably
you will get your answer. Whenever we want to purchase a system there are multiple
selection are available in market with core i3, i5 and i7. Then we talk about
generations of these processors such as 1st generation, 2nd,
3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th generations. Intel launched a new generation of their processors every
year. Generation means the technique they used in the manufacturing process of
their processors. How good and how small the technique is used? There are billions
of small transistor are located in the processors. How small the transistor is
that’s what Intel tells us every year. The more the smaller transistor is the more efficient it will
be and consumes least power. Now a day’s Intel used 14nm size of transistor in
there processors. Few years back the size of transistors that was used by Intel
was 20nm. Furthermore year back the size
of transistor was 28nm, 40nm, 100nm and 150nm. Slowly slowly Intel works on the
size of transistors. The size of transistors starts from 150nm and now the size
of transistors remains only 14nm. If I talk about that 4th generation
is batter then 3rd then obviously there is no doubt latest is batter
then the previous one. Now let's talk about i3, i5 and i7.
I3 Processors:
Intel divides their
processors into three categories. I3 is the basic of them. I am not talking
about Pentium here. I3 is dual core processor for a laptop or desktop system.
You can find hyper threading enable in core i3 processors means your operating
system see this processor as a quad core processor and make better use of it.
There are many models of i3 found in the market like 4130, 4220 etcetera
etcetera. The clock speeds of these processors are different from each other.
Their frequencies are also different from each other. A chase memory is also
includes in these processor of small size like 2MB, 4MB and 8MB. I think if you
are a normal user you used your laptop or a desktop for a normal task like
word, excel and PowerPoint. Or you used you computer for gaming or you used a
smaller graphic card then Core i3 is more than enough for you.
I5 Processors:
There are two versions
are available in I5 processors. One is for the desktop and other is for laptop.
The processors which are used in laptop are dual core processor and the
processors which are used in desktop are quad core processors. Hyper threading is
not enables in the desktop processor versions but it is enables in laptop
versions. That’s why operating system see dual core as a quad core processor in
laptop. I5 processor is little better than I3. The speed and the cache memory
of these processors are better than I3 processors. You can use it for better
performance of heavy software’s like Photoshop and other gaming purpose.
I7 Processors:
I7 best is available
processor for the consumer market. There are three versions are available in I7. Hyper
threading is also enables in these processors. That’s why operating system sees
processor as double power of its actual power. There are high cache memory is
also available in these processors. This is the best processor if you want high
performance in audio video rendering and other heavy tasks. Now talk about over
clocking. Over clocking means you can enhance the power of your processor but
you don’t do this for every processor. If you find a “K” character at the end
of the processor model number then you can enhance your processor power.
Hopefully the concept
of Difference between core i3 i5 and i7 is now cleared. If you have any question then please comment
